      Peter Bóna’s main work focuses on the design and evaluation of tunnels and their support structures. He has worked at Basler & Hofmann since 2006 as a senior design engineer in the civil engineering department. He graduated from the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava and is an authorised construction engineer in the field of structural and civil engineering (bridges and tunnels). His portfolio includes many important Slovak and several foreign projects, some of which have been completed and some that are still in the pipeline. He has recently been working on the Slovak road and motorway tunnels of Svrčinovec, Poľana, Žilina and Ovčiarsko.

      After graduating from the Department of Civil Engineering of the Slovak Technical University (STU) in Bratislava, Štefan Choma started his career as a lecturer at the STU’s Department of Concrete Structures and Bridges. After that, he worked for the Slovak Highway Directorate, then for the Slovak Roads Administration and the National Motorway Company as the head of the bridge department, and later as the head of the tunnel department. He has extensive experience in the planning and design of motorway, road and railway tunnels. He also coordinated and participated in the creation of the Slovak technical regulations for tunnels. He has worked at Basler & Hofmann Slovakia s.r.o. since 2006, where he has been Managing Director and Production Director for 12 years. His advice, knowledge and experience have contributed to the successful completion of complex and demanding transport infrastructure projects. Last but not least, his active participation in the establishment and activities of professional organisations such as the Slovak National Committee of the FIP, the Slovak Road Company and the Slovak Tunnel Association should also be noted.

      Since completing his studies at the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Slovak Technical University, Alexander Goliaš has been working on water management structures and water management. He is an authorised structural engineer in the field of complex engineering and architectural services, and a technical consultant in the field of water management structures. He has been working at Basler & Hofmann as a senior designer since 2015. Alexander Goliaš is involved in the design of water management solutions for transport structures, such as the Žilina and Ovčiarsko motorway tunnels. His most interesting past projects include the water management of the Višňové, Považský Chlmec and Čebrať tunnels.

      Matej Gužik specialises in the design and calculations of geotechnical constructions, especially tunnelling pits and tunnel approach cuttings. After graduating from the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Slovak Technical University (STU) with a focus on water management structures, he worked as an internal doctoral student at the Geotechnics Department of the STU, where he obtained his doctorate in Geotechnics. He joined Basler & Hofmann in 2011 as a geotechnical engineer. Since 2016, he has been an authorised construction engineer in the fields of civil engineering and structural analysis. He has contributed to the design and assessment of several motorway and railway projects, including tunnel approach cuttings and supporting and retaining walls.

      With the arrival of Marián Kováčik in 2013, Basler & Hofmann expanded its activities in road construction. After graduating from the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Slovak Technical University (STU) in Bratislava, Marián Kováčik worked in the field of road construction at several engineering design companies. He is an authorised structural engineer in the field of complex engineering and architectural services, and a technical consultant on the topic of roads. At present, he is also a visiting lecturer at the Transport Construction Department of the STU in Bratislava. He and his team of designers work on Slovak and Swiss highway and motorway projects. His latest projects include the completion of the D3 Osčadnica–Čadca Bukov motorway and the complete renovation of the A6 Kiesen–Thun South motorway in Switzerland.

      Concrete structures and bridges were the main focus of Michal Krajčík’s studies at the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Slovak Technical University. He is an authorised construction engineer in the field of civil engineering for bridges and tunnels and in structural analysis. He has been working at Basler & Hofmann as a senior bridge designer since 2014. He is involved in both Slovak and Swiss projects in cooperation with the parent company. His recent projects include the reconstruction of the bridge over the Danube in Medveďov, the reconstruction of the Strečno cliff, the Altbach bridge in Switzerland and the repair of the bridges on the A3 motorway in Switzerland in the Murg–Walenstadt section.

      Matej Kuruc has been member of the Basler & Hofmann team since 2005. He graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Košice with a focus on engineering construction and road construction. While working in Bratislava and Zurich, he was involved in several departments of the company. He is currently a member of the Structural Engineering Management team, but also works on motorway infrastructure construction projects and on the implementation of the quality management system. The most important projects in his portfolio are the multifunctional building in the Europaallee district near the main railway station in Zurich, the CityWest C apartment building, and the Bratislava Bypass on the D4R7 motorway.

      Branislav Neuschl joined the Basler & Hofmann team as a senior designer in civil engineering in 2005. He graduated from the BERG Faculty of the Košice Technical University. He is authorised to design structures related to mining operations and is an authorised construction engineer in the field of complex engineering and architectural services. He is also a technical consultant in the field of engineering structures such as tunnels. He has been involved in the design of several major buildings as senior designer and project manager for Slovak motorway and rail tunnel projects. His work includes the development of safety documentation and assessments, as well as the coordination of project work concerning structural and technological aspects of tunnel construction.

      Pavol Olejník joined our company in 2008 as an underground construction designer. He graduated from the Department of Mining, Ecology, Management and Geotechnology at the Technical University of Košice with a degree in underground engineering and geotechnics. He is authorised to design constructions for mining operations and is also an authorised construction engineer in the category of civil engineering construction with a focus on tunnels. As a designer responsible for individual constructions, he has participated in projects involving several tunnel structures both in Slovakia and abroad which were components of the modernisation of railway corridors or the construction of motorways and high-speed roads. At present, he is primarily working on various projects in Switzerland, in particular, the reconstruction and modernisation of existing tunnel structures.

      Eva Šávelová graduated from the Transport Operation and Economy Faculty at the University of Transport and Communications in Žilina. She then worked in leading positions in state administration and in the private sector, including management and investment organisations, as well as a large engineering design company, where she handled FIDIC contractual terms and procurement procedures in the area of transport infrastructure. She has been at Basler & Hofmann since 2010, where she can draw from her extensive experience and knowledge of the procurement, preparation and implementation of transport construction contracts.

      Róbert Zwilling has worked at Basler & Hofmann Slovakia s.r.o. since 2006. Since 2018, he has been the Managing Director and Production Director of our company. His main focus is the structural aspects of tunnelling. He is involved in the construction of significant tunnels as a key expert, senior designer and consultant. His most recent projects include the Žilina, Ovčiarsko, Svrčinovec and Poľana tunnels, and at present he is involved in designing the longest tunnel on the D1 motorway – the Višňové tunnel, which is under construction. He has worked on several tunnels in foreign countries the past, and is a member of the board of the Slovak Tunnelling Association.
