„Fridolinsbrücke“: Tendering and execution from BIM model

The Fridolinsbrücke bridge crosses the Rhine between Stein (Switzerland) and Säckingen (Germany) and has an important function in connecting countries, especially for special transport. Basler & Hofmann Switzerland and Slovakia planned the renovation of the 244 metre-long bridge from the 1970s and was responsible for the construction management. The consistent tendering and execution using a digital model, Building Information Modeling (BIM), was a first for the repair of an infrastructure structure.
