Gabčíkovo hydropower plant: modernisation

Gabčíkovo is the most powerful hydropower plant in Slovakia and the central pillar of the countryʼs renewable energy supply. It is located on the section of the Danube between Bratislava and the Hungarian border. The project aims to extend the life of the power plant by at least 30 years. To achieve this goal, eight turbine-generator units and the associated technical equipment will be comprehensively modernised.
